Michael Sobek is an Education professional with extensive experience in educational design specialising in the development and delivery of online educational material. Michael has experience across both Vocational and Higher education. He currently project manages the design and development of course and program material across 6 schools within the Health group at Griffith University. Michael provides support and staff development to academics across multiple schools to develop a sustainable elearning culture.
Michael has teaching experience with Indigenous, international and domestic students and has worked closely with Government bodies in the design and delivery of large learning projects including Learnscope through the Australian Flexible Learning Framework and 2 major Australian Flexible learning grants (Networks and Targeted Learners).
Michael has high level understanding of project management methodologies as it relates specifically to the production and development of educationally sound projects and products.
Dr Philippa Seaton is a registered nurse and academic specialising in elearning. Philippa has extensive experience in nursing education in both clinical and academic environments. She has also taught in dentistry and oral health programmes. In 2003, Philippa completed her PhD, which investigated online learning in nursing and midwifery in Australia. Subsequent to that study, Philippa lead the Australian part of an international benchmarking study with the American Association of Higher Education – Teaching, Learning & Technology group, and a consortium of 7 universities in the USA that evaluated the educational uses of the web in nursing. Philippa presents and publishes in the area of elearning for health professionals. Philippa was a lecturer at Griffith University in Queensland from 2000-2007. From 2001 – 2007 Philippa had special responsibility for coordinating the development of the web-enhanced Bachelor of Nursing curriculum across the multi-campus School of Nursing and Midwifery at Griffith University. Philippa also provided support and staff development to academics in the school to develop a sustainable elearning culture. Since mid 2007, Philippa has been the eLearning Leader in the School of Nursing and Human Services at Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology (CPIT) in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Philippa is currently an elearning consultant to the Eastern Institute of Technology in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, for their online Masters in Nursing programme development. She also holds adjunct Associate Professorial positions at Griffith University in Queensland and at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Philippa has substantial knowledge of online learning principles and demonstrated significant expertise and experience in applying this in the field of elearning and teaching in health professional education.
